About Us

The North Valley Zen Sangha is a small, independent Zen community established in 2013 to provide students with an ongoing opportunity to deepen their practice.

We gather for zazen weekly at the Albuquerque Insight Meditation Center, 200 Rosemont Ave. NE. We also host occasional zazenkai (all- or half-day sittings) led by Mitra Bishop Roshi, abbot of Mountain Gate/Sanmonji in Ojo Sarco, N.M.

Zazen instruction for newcomers is also available.

Wednesday 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The regularly scheduled practice includes two periods of zazen and brief kinhin (walking meditation). There is a discussion period following sitting practice.

For more information, please contact Zenshin at (505) 453-6072 (monkzenshinATgmail.com).

Mitra Bishop Roshi will lead at zazenkai on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Albuquerque Insight Meditation Center. Practice starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 3:30 p.m., with a break for a brown bag lunch. Please contact Zenshin for details.
